Research

I decided to help me along with my research, I would take photos of the various venues that alight will be using around sheffield, I wanted to look at their over all looks and the shapes of them, to see if they would be interesting to work with within my illustration design. I took photos of the City Hall, Town Hall and Winter Gardens whilst I was walking around Sheffield yesterday as part of my primary research. I didn't have chance to draw any on that day, but I will be going back to do so.
I walk through the winter gardens/millenium galleries every day I am at university, I walk through it on my way to the bus stop home. I always enjoy looking in it. So I took some images of the inside too. The Winter Gardens is such an interesting building in itself.
Unfortunately I couldn't really get into the City Hall due to the graduation ceromonies taking place. But I will be going again to take photos inside if I can!
For the project Obs and Comms that we did for first year, I focused the project on the town hall building on pinstone street. So I have quite a few images of it from that project which I can use, however I don't really think that I will be basing much of my project around the town hall building. I really do like the shape of it's clock tower though.
